FNWF 7th August 2020 FNWF

Hi all,

I see the my blog has been updated, I have not done an update.  I was typing not long ago and lost what I had typed, not sure why.  On Friday morning we woke up early and it was raining.  All up we had 12mls which was great to hear and see the rain.  I sat down On Friday afternoon and got out my Crane Sashiko and stitched along the bottom part.

Still more to do as you can see.  A few weeks back Brett asked me to add some embroidery patches that someone else made.  The pics are here.
I have uploaded the pics to Google photos but they are not showing up, so will try and add those later.

Brett’s Brother Ross arrived here to give us a hand with moving boxes and doing other things around here.

We borrowed our neighbours truck, Ross, Jon our neighbour, Brandon Brett and I moved our boxes out of the house here and loaded them up on Jon’s truck.  Brett’s younger Brother Jason arrived here that night.  Brett and Jason went to Narromine They dropped off the gear, boxes and mattresses then drove back to Nyngan to stay the night and returned back here early the next morning.  Then that afternoon
Brett and I went to Narromine as the internet was being connected at our House so we stayed overnight, I got some unpacking done which was great.
We returned back here the next day.
Brett went to Narromine this afternoon to drop off more gear. He will return home tomorrow.  The removalist truck will be here at the end of the month.  I still have more boxes to pack so hopefully will get them all finished soon.  I hope everyone has a great weekend what is left of it.

FNSI 17th July 2020

Hi all,
Thanks for all the previous comments.  I am still having trouble with replies.  Has been busy here with sorting, throwing out and packing our gear.  I have not had much time to sew and have packed some of my sewing gear into boxes.  I still have gear out that I can use.
Yesterday I worked on a hexagon flower for a monthly swap I am in.
Here it is.
This afternoon I worked on another hexagon flower a blue and white one. Here is a photo of it.
I had the petals hand basted so I just sewed it together.  This one is for a swap too.  I just need to give both a press and write a note to go with each then they can be sent off next week.

Brett and I now have Home and Contents insurance on our house.  Our Solicitor rang and told Brett we can do a final inspection and have a handover of the House keys when we are ready.  So we may be taking off to do that next week.  Another thing is I can have a sewing room as there are four bedrooms in the House.  It will be a while before I get it all set up then I can add photos here to show you all.
Friends  of ours who usually come up and stay for a week in May at our Neighbours Shearer’s Huts suprised Us with a visit, they were up at our Neighbours place.

The men brought their Wives.  They are all going up to the Opal fields and staying overnight there and returning home tomorrow.  It was great to see them all.
That is all for me.  Thank you Wendy for hosting FNSI.  I hope Everyone has a great weekend sewing.

Hi All,
I have been busy as we are moving later this year, going to move to Dubbo, NSW.  Last week we went to look at places, still deciding on what to buy.
This afternoon I have been doing my Sashiko Crane.
I have been stitching around the edges.  So not that much done. I am going to try and do more each day and get the stitching finished.

I hope everyone has a good long weekend.
Thank you Cheryll for hosting FNWF.

FNWF 1/5/2020

Hi all,
Thanks to you all that commented on my last blog post.
I have finished my Sashiko table runner.

I added a piece of fabric as it was not wide enough to reach either end.

A label that I have sewn on.

A friend sent me some fabrics a while ago and I have sewn some of the squares together.
I do not know what I am going to do with the squares yet.

FNWF 17/4/2020

Hi All,
Thank you all that left comments last week.  Still having trouble with replying back to you all.
I have been working on my Crane Sashiko.
The first photo is where I got up to, the 2nd photo is where I am up to now.  Getting there slowly.

I had to change to a smaller needle as the bigger needle I had was harder to get through the fabric, as it has a larger eye on the needle.  The stitch length is smaller on this panel too.
On Wednesday night I was outside near a camp fire.  I tripped over a piece of wood and grazed my left knee and left lower arm, have a small bruise on my left wrist also have a small graze on my right palm of my hand, all healing up well.
Through the week I have been going through things here and throwing out things that we do not need.  Lately I have not felt like sewing, but will be back into it soon as I have a few swaps I need to get done.
Tomorrow it is our 18th Wedding Anniversary, The years have been going too fast.
I hope you all have a great weekend with what is left of it.
From Sue Coleman.

FNWF 10/4/20

Hi All,
I have finished my Sashiko.  This is where I was up to yesterday.  Finished it yesterday afternoon, last photo,  I just need to find a fabric to back it with and sew it on.  It has taken me a few years on and off to do it.

The photos are out of order as you can see.
It feels good to have it all stitched though.
We have had more more which started on Thursday night and we woke up to the sound of rain early in the morning.  All up we have had 53mls, so just over 2 inches.
Yesterday I started another Sashiko panel, this is a smaller one.

The background looks black but it is a navy blue.  Not sure how long it is going to take to do.  As I go along with it I will post progress photos.
I have made Hot Cross Buns for the first time.

they are burnt on the bottom.
Happy Easter to you all.
From Sue.
